Mashed Potatoes

4 large potatoes, peeled and quartered

2 litres water

1 teaspoon salt

white pepper powder

1 teaspoon butter or olive oil

  1. Boil water in a pot and once it starts to bubble, boil the potatoes in hot water till they soft to mash. It will take some good 20 minutes.
  2. In a clean bowl, mash the potatoes with a fork. Add the butter to facilitate the mash, giving a smooth paste. Add in salt and pepper to taste.
  3. For those who like potatoes with skin, ensure you have thoroughly cleaned and brushed the potatoes before cooking them in the boiling water.
