4 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
2 litres water
1 teaspoon salt
white pepper powder
1 teaspoon butter or olive oil
- Boil water in a pot and once it starts to bubble, boil the potatoes in hot water till they soft to mash. It will take some good 20 minutes.
- In a clean bowl, mash the potatoes with a fork. Add the butter to facilitate the mash, giving a smooth paste. Add in salt and pepper to taste.
- For those who like potatoes with skin, ensure you have thoroughly cleaned and brushed the potatoes before cooking them in the boiling water.
