Apple Sauce

2 granny smith apples – skinned, pitted & coarsely chopped (do not blend)

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon sugar

1/2 cup water

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder (optional)

  1. Heat the pan over medium to low fire. Saute the apple gently.
  2. Add in the honey, sugar and water and saute briskly before adding the cinnamon powder.
  3. Turn off the heat when the mixture thickens. Leave the sauce to cool in a clean bowl before consuming.

The whole cooking process should not exceed 5 minutes. If you plan to make dressing out of this sauce, I suggest to add another 1/2 cup of water, skip the cinnamon powder and 1/2 tablespoon of apple cider (after turning off the heat).

Serving suggestions : Dressing for salad, dipping for plain buns, as jam on sandwich loaf slices.
