2 granny smith apples – skinned, pitted & coarsely chopped (do not blend)
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder (optional)
- Heat the pan over medium to low fire. Saute the apple gently.
- Add in the honey, sugar and water and saute briskly before adding the cinnamon powder.
- Turn off the heat when the mixture thickens. Leave the sauce to cool in a clean bowl before consuming.
The whole cooking process should not exceed 5 minutes. If you plan to make dressing out of this sauce, I suggest to add another 1/2 cup of water, skip the cinnamon powder and 1/2 tablespoon of apple cider (after turning off the heat).
Serving suggestions : Dressing for salad, dipping for plain buns, as jam on sandwich loaf slices.
